Hi Louigi,

I guess you installed Giada with the deb package from this site, did you? BTW could you paste here the output of

Code: Select all

ldd /path/to/giada_lin
?

Thanks!

I asked Falk of KXStudio to make an update to his repo, now everything works okay!

Actually, KX Studio version is for JACK only, so if JACK causes random crashes, then I might need to run this instead.

Good to hear that!

Code: Select all

ldd /usr/bin/giada_lin
not a dynamic executable
that's because you are using the super-stripped version, which comes from the official .deb. I honestly don't know how Giada is packaged in KXStudio, maybe it was just a matter of shared library cache.

Nope, the KX Studio installs and runs, but has UI randomly freezing. This deb is from Giada site: http://www.giadamusic.com/download/grab/linux-64

Okay, I installed libmidirt with a help from a friend who has compiled it. Unfortunately, software will not open samples in patches - it says "File not found", although if I open a patch in a text editor - correct path is there.

Eh, looks like the demo will not happen. Big pity, I was very eager to show off Giada.

Please, guys, help me with this. Maybe at least I can use Giada some other time. But for now the software is unusable for me.

Ok, sorry for the delay: I took some time to dig into this issue. If I've understood correctly, KxStudio actually managed to resolve the missing dependency, right? However I can confirm the original bug: RtMidi was not defined as an external library in the .deb package - issue that has been already fixed in the development version.

Now, if you launch Giada shipped with KxStudio it randomly freezes, while if you run it from our installer/package you cannot open samples in patches. As for the unreadable samples: could you please paste here the debug output (or better, in a new thread so that we keep this one clean :D )? Thanks!
