[FIXED] Running the Binary on a 64-bit System

Post by th0rbj0rn » Sun Mar 03, 2013 1:04 am

Hi there,

I noticed a note on the bottom of the requirements page that asked folks who tried to run it on a 64bit system to check in.

here is an ASCII.IO recording of what went down. http://ascii.io/a/2246

The error message was as follows:

Code: Select all

./giada_lin: error while loading shared libraries: libXft.so.2: cannot open shared object file: No such file or directory

Hi th0rbj0rn,
thanks for reporting. LibXft is tied to FLTK, the GUI toolkit. In our 32-bit system, ldd says:

Code: Select all

...
libXft.so.2 => /usr/lib/i386-linux-gnu/libXft.so.2 (0x00110000)
....
That path is hardcoded into the binaries, so the library cannot be found on a 64-bit system, unfortunately. We'll look into that!
