Giada is looking pretty intriguing. However, maybe I'm missing something, but Giada's sample load / browser dialog doesn't seem to preview samples as you click on them. I understand that this is smart to have by default for live usage, but I would think that at least having the *option* for autoplay / preview on single click would make life way, way easier for those of us building our sample setups in advance / mostly in advance.
(I'm really kind of surprised this hasn't come up before on the feature requests - again, maybe I'm doing something wrong... I've tried double-clicking, right-clicking, shift/Alt/Ctrl-clicking, turning up the channel before trying to load a sample, and of course reading the available docs for any clues - still no preview. Win7 64-bit here.)
Also, another sort of seemingly counterintuitive behavior is having to turn up each individual channel before it can be played. Again, I can understand how this might be smart in the heat of a live set but maybe it could be a configuration option - "bring channels automatically to full volume on sample load", something like that.
Thanks... again, this is looking pretty interesting and I am looking forward to seeing where Giada goes!

Re: Audible preview in sample browsing window?
I totally agree with you; so far you have to guess or recall the right sample only by the filename. No audio preview at all and that's uncomfortable. We were already planning an advanced file browser with some facilities, I add your suggestion to that!lossfabulous wrote:Giada is looking pretty intriguing. That's an easy to implement - and useful - feature, I think we can add it with ease to the next version (0.5.8, at this point).lossfabulous wrote:Also, another sort of seemingly counterintuitive behavior is having to turn up each individual channel before it can be played.
