Compiling Tutorial

Hello and thanks for Giada!

Can someone kindly explain (step-by-step :)) how to set up a development environment to build Giada from source code?

I would prefer 'VS2015' IDE on Windows, but will use Ubuntu/linux IDE if configuration is easily explained.
I will be setting up a virtual machine (i.e. VirtualBox) from scratch dedicated for this purpose...

My initial experience following the few instructions given on the documentation page left me stranded- (some authorization issues)...

I have software development experience with source control (Mercurial) but am a complete newbie to GitHub and Git...

Thanks in advance,
Greg

Hi MusicMan74, luckily for you we have just added CMake support to the whole codebase. Simply put, this will make compilation way easier than it is now. You just have to wait a couple of weeks until we publish it in the next official release 0.17.0, along with the updated documentation. You will find the detailed instructions in this page: https://www.giadamusic.com/documentatio ... rom-source (currently it contains instructions for the old method)

Stay tuned :)
