Mac build environment

I've been trying to build giada from source on Mac, but now stuck when trying to compile with VST support

My setup:
- OS X 10.10.3
- XCode 6 installed
- Using homebrew for dependent packages (e.g. FLTK)
- Trying to build from source once configuring environment to point at homebrew resources (includes/libraries)
- Using clang++ to try and surface compile-time errors
- Can only build without VST support

I've had to make simple changes so far (some missing header includes; a couple of unused variable cleanups), but now I'm stuck when trying to build with VST support (which pulls in files using the Carbon API).

I'm suspicious that I'm using an odd environment vs. what is used for building releases, so I was wondering if anybody has any tips towards a tested/used build environment?

Also considering just trying to set this up entirely in homebrew, which would avoid the environment-configuration steps

Hi there,

Honestly our build process on OS X is pretty "lame": we never tried it without VST support. You said the compiler complains about the Carbon API: maybe there are some missing #ifdef WITH_VST around. Can you please post the error messages you've got? Thanks!
